We were asked by our recently retired Client to look at designing a new house down the road from their existing property. The Client was looking to downsize from their current home and wanted us to focus on the ground floor residential space.  It was also important that they still had enough space for their children and grandchildren to visit and stay overnight.   

We came up with a contemporary 4-bedroom design set on two levels.  The design included a large open plan living space with a separate dining room and lounge for more formal occasions.   

The external fabric of the building is highly insulated and the windows are triple glazed.  Combined with the provision of a ground-source heat pump, the property is highly energy efficient and requires little additional heating.   

The building is a contemporary home that fits into its rural surroundings.
